We started Corroshield Industrial Services with a very clear goal in mind: To offer industrial sites a professional and tailored turnkey maintenance and corrosion protection solution for their steel assets and bulk liquid storage infrastructure. Our bespoke service offering and 5-step delivery plan is designed to optimise our client's asset integrity lifecycle in line with their operational goals and objectives.

Our turnkey service is broken down into 5 steps:

1.  Initial Survey & Planning: Our experienced team will work to understand your asset maintenance objectives and requirements through initial consultation and surveys. This then allows us to develop a bespoke asset inspection and maintenance programme tailored to meet your operational goals and optimise your asset integrity lifecycle which will save you cost, time, resource and avoid outages, repairs, replacements, safety incidents and fines.

2. Pre-Inspection Cleaning & Preparation: We offer a range of asset cleaning and preparation techniques to achieve the necessary standards required for a successful inspection.

3. Inspection & Reporting: NDT, EEMUA159, API inspections are performed by qualified inspectors and a comprehensive report is compiled showing findings, calculations and remedial recommendations to achieve compliance, safety and extend the design life of the asset in line with operational requirements. Reports and inspection programmes can be tailored to the client's bespoke needs.

4. Remedial Works: Steel, concrete, protective lining and coating repairs are performed by competent technicians to bring the asset upto code, and then re-tested and issued with a certificate of compliance. 

5. After Sales: A fully detailed project completion pack is compiled and submitted to the client with all relevant project information showing regulatory compliance. Typically our tank linings come with a 10 year warranty, and our external coatings can extend the life of the asset by upto 25 years.

Corroshield Industrial Services offers a range of modern and sustainable surface preparation   techniques to ensure optimal results are achieved safely on every project.

Grit Blasting: Using compressed air to propel abrasive media at a steel or concrete substrate at high velocity. Grit blasting, AKA shot blasting, abrasive blasting and sand blasting, is an extremely effective method of removing scale, rust, paint and contamination, taking the surface back to bright, clean steel. The abrasive media used in grit blasting also provides a surface profile on the substrate which acts as a key to promote mechanical adhesion of the protective coating system for maximum coating life and performance. Various grit blasting equipment and kit can be used to best suit each task and site, for example dustless blasting (where local contamination is a high risk), captive blasting (where recycling abrasive media is possible), robotic blasting (where working at height needs to be minimised).

Water Jetting: This versatile and sustainable method of surface preparation can achieve varying levels of cleanliness depending on the pressures used. At lower pressures, water jetting can be used to remove surface contaminants, soluble salts, loose rust scale or flakey paint. At higher pressures, water jetting can completely remove all rust and paint taking the substrate back to clean steel. Providing there is a legacy profile, this can be a more cost effective and sustainable alternative to grit blasting in some circumstances.

Power Tools: Needle guns, bristle blasters, power wire brushes etc. can be a more cost effective, safer and sustainable alternative to both grit blasting and water jetting to remove rust and paint, however this is often used for more localised repairs and when speed or cost are prioritised over coating life.

Upto 80% of coating defects are a result of inadequate surface preparation, therefore it is critical to any protective coating project that the most suitable method of surface preparation is correctly specified and achieved.
